Lesotho, while not a heavily populated country, does have some population issues to deal with. There are more babies being born than their population can truly support and the population isn't living past 40 years of age on average.

In 2000 Lesotho had a very fast growing population. There were nearly 300,000 children between the ages of birth and four as opposed to only about 180,000 people over the age of 60. Over 26% of Lesotho's population was under the age of 10.

It is projected by the year 2025 that Lesotho's population growth will have slowed and actually started to shrink. The population under the age of 20 begins to get small each year.

By 2050 Lesotho's population is still continuing to shrink. Each year fewer and fewer babies are born and the population seems to be living longer as well.
